The self indulgent

I started riding at the age of 16. That was around 15 years ago. I've logged

around 100,000 miles on motorcycles. By BMWMOCF standards,

I'm still new at this :-)

For quite a few years (probably 7 or 8 years), a motorcycle

was my only means of transportation. Rain, shine, tropical storm, whatever, I rode in it.

I did not obtain a car license until I was 23, about 8 years ago.

The first road test to get my car license I failed,

A VW Golf - The passenger door handle was broke. I proceeded to

drive over the obsticle course in a fit of anger.

The 2nd, VW Golf - I hit a cone while reversing.

The 3rd, Chevy Caprice - I hit a cone while reversing.

The 4th, Toyota Tercel - I passed, barely.

First and only Motorcycle test - Passed ahead of the class

I wasn't made for 4 wheels apparently.

The list of bikes I've owned is from oldest to most recent:

1979 Yamaha XS Special 400

1980something Kawasaki LTD 550

1989 Kawasaki Vulcan 750

1989 Harley Davidson Softail Custom (see the For Sale page ;-)

1995 Harley Davidson Road King

Yes, this is my ride. It's not a Beemer, but a Harley Davidson 1995 Road King.

I've done some minor work to it, which include:

V-Thunder 3000 cam, Mikuni HSR42 Carb, Screamin'

Eagle air cleaner, Vance and Hines 2 into 1 Pro Pipe, and a top end/valve job (surprise, it was an oil leak).

I had to rip the primary case off twice for yet another oil

leak, and once before that for a loose shifter arm.

Hopefully this cures the primary oil and tranny fluid leaks.

Apparently the previous owner did some real half assed work on

this bike, and they resurfaced after I bought it. Owell, should be ok now...

I've also added a trailer hitch, new handlebars, taller, tinted windshield,

and a Mustang touring seat with rider back rest (this is nice).

The trailer is a 1989 Time Out cargo. I re-wired it and put bigger tires on.

How does the bike ride with the trailer?

SLOW, like a tractor. Handling is shaky doing parking lot

maneuvers, and anything over 75 or so doesn't feel safe.

At normal speeds, it does fine...

Historical data:

When the BMWMOCF was formed in 1973, I was the tender age of 1.

I joined the BMWMOCF January of 2000, although I'd ridden on and off with

them a few years before. I was introduced to them

by former Road Captain and good friend, Adam Milne (RIP), who was

one of the few people I've encountered that shared the same

level of passion for motorcycling as myself. There's a still

a few of us left out there!

Geek details:

My Main Computer specs are as follows:

Custom pieced together PC assembled by me.

The case:

Enermax CS-3171L-B3A mid tower case w/400 watt power supply,

case comes modded with side window, neon light,

and two color changing bubble LED tubes on

the front. It also has silver front with plexiglas coating.

Very disco and geeky looking. I've added a 120mm

see through side. . This case runs coool with a total of 5

and video card fan. The case also supports up to

4 USB2 ports. 2 in the back, 2 in the front.

I am connected to the Internet via Road Runner. I usually

get data transfer rates of 2 megabits per second, which is helpful

when playing the Xbox online.

My network consists of a Microsoft MN-100 Router with a built in four port switch.

The MN-100 also has a built in firewall and network address translation (NAT).

It ties the PC, laptop, and Xbox safely to the Internet and shilds any wrong doers

from hacking into my network... hopefully.

I am running Windows XP Professional on all PC's with McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 7.0.

And finally... The soundcard output goes to a Stageworks LG8 PA.

Details on that can be found HERE.

In short, this system rocks!

Impressed? Neither am I...

Time to ride.
